As a manufacturer or retailer supplying the model railway enthusiast, why should you promote your business through the pages of Hornby Magazine?

Britain’s model railway industry is booming and, whilst those that have been in the hobby for many years continue in their quest for excellence, there is a large and growing number of new modellers starting up in or returning to the hobby.

Hornby Magazine is the magazine aimed squarely at these modellers. We go back to the heart of railway modelling, showing readers how to build a layout from scratch, including the fundamentals of baseboard construction, track laying and scenic work. We also explore the exciting possibilities of Digital Command Control (DCC) and the benefits it brings to the hobby.

Our principal aim is to help new modellers to develop their skills and get as much enjoyment out of their hobby as possible. We will continue to concentrate on layouts and models appropriate for the BR steam era through the early years of dieselisation to the beginning of the 1970s, although modern image layouts also appear when appropriate.

As a manufacturer or retailer supplying the model railway enthusiast, why should you promote your business through the pages of Hornby Magazine?

Railway modelling is currently experiencing a renaissance and we are keen to introduce new modellers into the hobby. The existing modelling titles in the market do not cater for the ‘beginner’ and are often inaccessible and assume a certain degree of knowledge and experience. Hornby Magazine fills this gap in the market, helping to develop the modeller’s skills. Step-by-step pictures illustrate every step — we don’t just say ‘solder this’, the magazine shows how to actually do it and what products to use.

The Hornby ‘branding’ is the obvious choice to launch a ‘first’ in railway modelling publishing. There is no other magazine like it currently in the market and no other magazine has the backing of a globally recognised brand.

Good clear, top quality digital photography with well presented artwork, including artist’s impressions & track-plans feature every month. Hornby Magazine provides two-way dialogue, including readers’ letters and plenty of simple tips to help educate and inform our readers together with pages of exclusive offers and competitions.

Hornby Magazine has been launched during a renaissance in railway modelling and coincides with new digital control technology becoming widely available. Hornby Magazine takes an in-depth look at all the systems on the market giving expert advice and opinion on making the right choices.

With an editorial brief to educate newcomers to the hobby and to actively encourage visiting local model railway exhibitions, it is not surprising to have societies reporting first time visitors to their events having read their advertisement within Hornby Magazine.
