On January 8 Hornby Hobbies launched its 2018 catalogue for British outline ‘OO’ gauge headlined by brand new models of the Southern Railway Maunsell ‘Lord Nelson’ 4-6-0, LMS Stanier streamlined ‘Princess Coronation’ 4-6-2 and North British Railway Holmes ‘J36’ 0-6-0.
These new additions to the Hornby portfolio will all be equipped with 8-pin DCC decoder sockets together with provision for the addition of a digital sound speaker. The ‘Lord Nelson’ and ‘J36’ will also be released with factory installed Hornby Twin Track Sound decoders.
Also new in the 2018 range are the Maunsell Kitchen First, extending the collection of Southern Railway built passenger rolling stock, together with models of the LNER ‘Toad B’ and ‘Toad E’ goods brake van.
A list of reliveries is planned across the manufacturers portfolio during the next year covering products as diverse as the ‘Brighton Belle’ five-car EMU, Bulleid air-smoothed ‘Merchant Navy’ 4-6-2, GWR ‘Castle’ 4-6-0, LMS rebuilt ‘Royal Scot’ 4-6-0, Class 60, 67, 87 and 800. An extensive range of new carriages and wagons are also planned for 2018.
