Decorated ICI hoppers dock

Hatton’s has received the first decorated samples of its new ‘OO’ gauge ICI bogie limestone hoppers for evaluation.

The wagon is being produced by Oxford Rail exclusively for Hatton’s and the tooling caters for different bogie and axle box designs as well as large and small ICI lettering. The project launched in 2014 and models the 1936 introduced bogie hoppers throughout their service careers. The last were withdrawn in 2001.

The first batch of samples covers the main variations including lettering and bogie design. The Hatton’s team is now inspecting these before moving to the next stage of the process.
